The FBI’s investigation into local public corruption alone may not have sunk Andrew Gillum’s bid for Florida governor. But it certainly didn’t help.
In the crucial last few weeks of the campaign, Gillum found himself playing defense after his one-time friend, lobbyist Adam Corey, and his GOP-connected lawyer, Chris Kise, began dropping emails undermining the mayor’s explanations about his role in the long-running undercover probe.
